Residents may register to vote prior to Election Day at City Hall, 6000 McColl Drive; at the Savage Public Library, 13090 Alabama Ave. S.; or at the Scott County Courthouse, 200 Fourth Ave. W., Shakopee.

Residents may also register to vote at their polling site on Election Day. Proof of identity and current residence is required. Please contact the City Clerk at 952.882.2660 for a list of acceptable forms of proof.

For those unable to make it to their polling places on Election Day, absentee ballots are available. Absentee ballots may be obtained at Savage City Hall and at the Scott County Courthouse during the election season. Questions regarding upcoming elections and voting procedures may be directed to the City Clerk at 952.882.2660.

An Absentee Ballot Application and/or Voter Registration Card may be downloaded from the Secretary of State website.  The site provides additional voting information as well.

City Elections
Members of the Savage City Council and local school boards are chosen by city voters in November of each odd-numbered year. Polling places for odd-year local elections, as well as even-year county, state and national elections, are as follows:

Precinct 1:   All areas north and east of the RR tracks including but limited to the Hamilton Area.
Polling Place: Downtown Fire Station
Address: 12305 Quentin Avenue South

Precinct 2:   Area bounded on the north by CR 16, on the west by the Credit River, on the east by the Burnsville border, and on the south by the Credit River and the Credit River tributary which flows into the City of Burnsville (or, the southernmost part of the River Bend neighborhood).
Polling Place: Glendale United Methodist Church
Address: 13550 Glendale Road

Precinct 3:   Area bounded on the south by CR 42, on the west by CR 27, on the north by CR 16 and on the east by the Credit River.
Polling Place: Savage City Hall
Address: 6000 McColl Drive

Precinct 4:   Area bounded on the north by CR 42, on the east and south by the Credit River and on the west by Dakota Avenue extended to the Credit River.
Polling Place: St. Mary Magdalene Lutheran Church
Address: 14225 Quentin Avenue South

Precinct 5:   An area formed by County Road 42 on the south, Dakota Avenue on the east, the Shakopee border on the west, and on the north by County Road 16 (from the Shakopee border to Boone Avenue), by Boone Avenue (from CSAH 16 to Connelly Parkway) and by Connelly Parkway (from Boone Avenue to Dakota Avenue).

Polling Place: Savage Public Works Building
Address: 13770 Dakota Avenue

Precinct 6:   All areas south of County Road 42, except those areas that lie within Precincts Two, Four and Eight.
Polling Place:  Bethesda Church  
Address: 15033 South Highway 13

Precinct 7:  All areas north of County Road 42, except those areas that lie within Precincts One, Two, Three and Five.

Polling Place:  Bridgewood Church

Address:  6201 W 135th Street

Precinct 8:  All areas south of County Road 42, east of Highway 13, north of South Park Drive and west of O'Connell Road.

Polling Place:  O'Connell Fire Station

Address:  14321 O'Connell Road

 

Qualifications for voting are:
  1. Must be 18 years of age;
  2. Must be a citizen of the United States;
  3. Must be a resident of the state for 20 days prior to the election.
