Listed below are two of the most commonly asked about ordinances for the Savage Police Department. For a more complete listing of City of Savage ordinances, please go to the selected ordinances .pdf file. One of the benefits of the use of .pdf files is that it has a 'search' tool for searching on key words. Look for the binocular button in the Adobe Reader to take advantage of this feature.

Alarm Use
The Code Enforcement Officer monitors the compliance of the Savage Alarm Ordinance relating to the number of false alarms for alarm users. Because the vast majority of alarms that the police respond to are caused by user error, alarm users are charged for false alarms. Alarm calls are reviewed quarterly and notification is sent to alarm users that have had false alarm calls to their residence or business. Each calendar year users are allowed 3 false alarms and after that they will be charged a $50 fee for each additional false alarm. The fees are not designed to be punitive, but to insure that alarm owners are responsible and that they properly train their families and guests.

Parking Restrictions
Parking on city streets is prohibited between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Tickets will be issued for violations. The reasons for these restrictions are aesthetics, public safety and the need for efficient snow removal, street sweeping and street repair.
