Officer George Luskey
in the Property Room

Crime Scenes are processed for evidence by Savage Police Department Crime Scene Technicians. Officer Joe Suel, Officer George Luskey, and Officer Kyle Klapperick serve as Crime Scene Technicians.  Retrieved evidence is stored in the Savage Police Department evidence room, which currently holds over 2000 pieces of property.

Evidence technicians Officer George Luskey and Sergeant Jill Cervenka are responsible for stored property, and process dozens of new pieces each week.  This property consists of not only crime evidence, but also many found or abandoned items, including bicycles, wallets, and tools.

Evidence technicians send a letter to the property owner (if known) when property can be released.  Property is available for pickup by appointment only, and property can be released only to the legal owner.  Unclaimed property is disposed of or auctioned after 90 days.

Anyone wishing to pick up property must call for an appointment with Officer George Luskey or Sergeant Jill Cervenka at 952.882.2600.
