About the ELC

The McColl Pond Environmental Learning and Event Center (ELC) is the result of a public-private partnership created in the interest of the environment. It consists of a multi-purpose building and the surrounding 10 acres of woodlands, marshes and restored prairie. The ELC is intended to demonstrate good land use practices and environmental stewardship, and is available for for everyone's recreational and educational enjoyment.

Various “green” components have been integrated into the building and the surrounding landscape to demonstrate how similar features can be used at home or work.

ELC Building

The ELC has a multi-purpose facility available for use by the public:

Aspen Room - May be reserved for meetings and celebrations
Up to 100 people seated at tables or,
150 lecture-style
Covered patio overlooking McColl Pond has capacity for another 100 guests

The building is constructed of recycled materials and incorporates several environmentally-friendly features that serve as models for sustainable design.
