City Development Philosophy

Emphasis on new commercial/industrial development needs to be balanced with an aggressive, innovative strategy for rehabilitating the Hamilton area and the previously established commercial/industrial business activity along Highway 13 and Highway 101.

The objective of the department's five-year work plan is to implement an ongoing economic development program that stresses job retention, job creation, tax base enhancement and downtown revitalization. Results of this work plan are projected to be an annual addition of $2 million in commercial/industrial tax capacity, and an annual addition of 100 new jobs in the commercial/industrial sector.
