Adult Leagues & Programs

The Savage Recreation Division offers a number of opportunities for adults to participate in athletic events.  All of our leagues offer multiple nights of play, draft lists for those not able to get enough people for a team, and much more.

Pickle Ball

PickleballGrab some friends and join us for a new adventure - Pickle Ball! The City of Savage has converted several tennis courts to house our Pickle Ball courts at three locations. 

The Spring/Summer Open Play will start May 16.  Open Pickleball allows all ages and skill levels to participate in rotating games.  Participants will be separated and play people of like ability.  No registration required, just show up at Canterbury Park (13444 Inglewood Ave.) on the following days through the month of September:
Mondays         6 - 8 p.m.
Tuesdays        9 - 11 a.m.
Thursdays       9 - 11 a.m.

Courts are available at the following parks: O'Connell Park and Warren Butler Park.

Bocce Ball


Two bocce courts were installed at Savage Community Park located near the skate park. Teams of 2 to 4 play double-headers early May through July. Two leagues are offered and any gender combination is accepted. Each league is self officiated and can have up to 8 teams. The registration deadline is Friday, April 17, 2016.

The Manager's meeting is Monday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Savage City Hall (6000 McColl Dr.,  55378). We will go over new rules, policies, schedules, etc. Please make sure a team representative is present.

SORR (South of the River Recreators) is offering another opportunity for adults to relive their days on the playground playing everyone's favorite game of Kickball. SORR Communities (Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Lakeville, Savage, Farmington, and Rosemount) are offering this unique opportunity for all adults ages 18 years and older to form Co-Rec teams. We will have both competitive and recreational Co-Rec leagues which will tentatively last about 8 weeks with a single elimination tournament.

10 people are allowed on the field at once, 5 males and 5 females, but can have up to 20 on your roster. Games will be played in Savage on Wednesday and Thursday nights. The season will begin in early May. Umpires will not be available this year.

The manager's meeting will be held Monday, April 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Savage City Hall (6000 McColl Dr.  55378).

Savage Recreation is currently offering a Men's and Corec Summer Softball Leagues with games played at Savage Community Park. Men's leagues are available for teams in the "D" or "E" level of play sanctioned by the USSSA.  The CoRec league is a "E" level of play on Monday nights also USSSA.

Summer leagues begin in late April and end in mid-July.  All divisions will play 24 games with double-headers each night.

Fall leagues begin in August and wrap up in early October.

Men's leagues play on Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings. If you are interested in purchasing a new 2016 sanctioned USSSA bat or looking to see if your bat is legal, please check out the USSSA website and under the Licensed Equipment - New Bat Rules and click the appropriate link.

If you are an individual looking for a team, call the Parks and Recreation office at 952-224-3420 to be placed on a draft list. If you are wondering if the games are on or not, please call the Weather Line at 952-882-2688 after 4:00 p.m.

Affective immediately, USSSA leagues in Minnesota, all bats must now have the USSSA "Finger Print" stamp on them to be used in league play.  Older grandfathered bats and bats from other associations are not allowed.
