Commissions
The Savage City Council values the involvement of residents and has four resident advisory commissions which provide opportunities for participation. Serving on a commission is a great way to provide input and discuss important issues with your fellow residents.
Our goal is to have our commissions reflect a broad cross-section of the diverse perspectives that make up our community. Please consider applying for a commission to share your perspective, opinions, and recommendations to our City Council members.
Commission members are volunteers appointed by the City Council following an application and interview process. Members typically serve three-year terms that begin on February 1.
Commissioners are required to be residents of Savage; EDC Commissioners are required to either live in Savage or own a business in Savage.
Student Commission Applications
The City of Savage accepts junior and senior high school students living in Savage, who are interested in learning more about local government and serving on one of four City Commissions (below). Students must serve a one year term and able to participate in one evening meeting per month. Applicants will be interviewed and appointed by the Savage City Council.
