What's new with sustainability in the City of Savage?
Grant applications. Staff secured over $100,000 in grants for sustainable infrastructure, equipment, and planning since 2020.
Energy savings. City facilities are being upgraded to LED lighting to save on energy.
Events. Community and staff events for roadside cleanup and bike/walk to work days.
The City of Savage is a Step 5 in the Minnesota GreenStep Cities Program. This voluntary program helps cities achieve their sustainability and quality of life goals as well as provides assistance and recognition program when goals are met.
Electric Vehicles are part of the transition to a carbon-free community. In 2021, two dual-port charging stations which are open to the public were installed at City Hall.
