The place to find these items is the St. Paul Farmers Market, which sets up shop in the Savage Depot parking lot, 4800 W. 123rd St. (downtown Savage). Stroll the aisles of the market – filled with delectable goods like berries, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet corn, apples and melons. You will even find vendors that use the organic method to grow their crops.

Check out the wide variety of volunteer opportunities for organizations and residents of all ages that are available with the City of Savage, Savage Parks and Recreation, and Savage Police Department.

Tucked within the Savage branch of the Scott County Library System is the Heritage Room, a place where the rich history of Savage has been on display for the public since 1997.

The Heritage Room was established as a joint partnership between the library system, the City of Savage and the Dan Patch Historical Society. The room holds two display cases containing Dan Patch memorabilia and buttons from all of the Dan Patch Days celebrations, as well as items from Cargill, Camp Savage, and other collectibles. The room also has an historic archive of newspaper articles and other information pertaining to Savage, along with books that have been written about the community. The Heritage Room follows the schedule of the library, which is open 7 days a week.

A group of Savage seniors meet for fellowship, refreshments and to play card games every Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Savage Library Annex. All are welcome!

Savage values the importance of arts in building a strong community. The nonprofit Savage Arts Council was founded in 2006 for the purpose of adding cultural art events to the growing southern metro area of the Twin Cities, building art appreciation and supporting regional artists. The organization is led by volunteers to provide arts programs and events in Savage and the southern Twin Cities, drawing local audiences as well as those from the greater metropolitan market.

Annual events include a juried art show and competition, the Minnesota River Arts Fair and the Scott County Art Crawl. The Savage Arts Council also provides workshops and classes at its center in the Savage Library. More info at savageareaarts.org.

The City of Savage partners with Life Time to offer Savage residents access to a state-of-the-art fitness center with both indoor and outdoor pool facilities without being members. The daily fees are only available to people who live in Savage.

Family Swim Hours:  Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Why doesn't Savage have a community pool?
Th City of Savage did evaluate building is own outdoor aquatic center in 2001. However, the ongoing operating expenses and tax burden to residents which are associated with this type of project, did not make financial sense. Instead, the City chose to partner with Life Time to bring indoor and outdoor aquatic amenities to our community.

What is the partnership between the City and Life Time?
Under the public-private partnership with Life Time, residents of Savage have access to the Life Time indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities without having to maintain a Life Time membership. Daily admission fees for residents are kept at levels comparable to other municipals pools in the area.

I am a Savage resident, but not a member of Life Time. Can I still use the Life Time pool?
Yes. Savage residents can purchase a day pass to use the outdoor pool only or the entire club including the indoor pool. Prices for each are listed above. You will need to show identification with your current Savage address.

Can I bring my kids?
Yes. Residents are allowed to bring their own children. Rates for kids 13+ are $9.50 and kids age 12 and under are $5.25.

Can I bring my neighbors' kids or my grandkids?
Yes, if you are a member of Life Time. Members are allowed a limited number of guest privilege visits each year. If the guest is under 18, a Sponsoring Member Form must be signed by you and the parent/guardian of the minor.
No, if you are not a member of Life Time. Guest and Club Policies prohibit a non-member from bringing a guest to the facility.
