Savage residents and businesses contract with private refuse haulers in order to dispose of waste. Businesses must be licensed with the City in order to operate and collect in Savage.

There is a City Ordinance that all garbage/recycling containers need to be stored in the side or rear yard, within 3’ of the building, except on collection day. On collection day, containers can be placed at the front property line, but not before 4 p.m. the night before collection and shall be removed by 8 p.m. the day of collection. Violators are subject to ticketing.
